 About the Symbol (LOGO)

The visual identity for the JSW School of Public Policy comprises an elegant and unique symbol. Inspired by the intricate 'Tree of Life' design found in one of Ahmedabad city's monuments, the commercial capital of Gujarat state, IIMA's famed visual identity serves as a foundation. Similarly, the visual identity of JSW-SPP depicts a fusion of Islamic architectural styles with Hindu and Jain architectural styles, forming a composite Indo-Saracenic design style. Hindu craftsmanship and construction acumen blend with Islamic aesthetics of geometry and scale, evident across various exquisite monuments in Ahmedabad, such as Sarkej Roza, Adalaj and Dada Harir stepwells, Jhulta Minar, Jama Masjid, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Hazrat Harir's Mosque, pols, havelis, and many others.

The motifs and patterns derived from these sources have been simplified to align with the core ethics of the JSW-SPP brand vision, mission, and values. The identity for JSW-SPP integrates the values of design, choice, and impact.

As the school embraces its three core values design, choice, and impact the brand identity incorporates three distinct colors: Navy blue, central to the IIMA visual identity; Dark grayish blue, representing the JSW School of Public Policy program; and Fire Engine Red, the color of the JSW Group.

In the JSW-SPP visual identity, graphic patterns are crafted to enhance the elegance and significance of both the host institute and the Heritage City of Ahmedabad. Traditional architectural elements and Islamic geometry form the basis of these patterns, complemented by depictions of people holding hands to symbolize harmony among institutional entities, the student body, and stakeholders in policymaking.
