The Prasar Bharati logo is a thoughtful representation that draws inspiration from its rich heritage. Initially, the corporate office of Prasar Bharati incorporated both the Doordarshan and All India Radio logos alongside the text ‘PRASAR BHARATI,’ flanked by the Indian emblem. This was a nod to the significant contributions of both DD and AIR to Prasar Bharati.

To preserve and honor this historical legacy while symbolizing the amalgamation of these two influential entities, the new logo seamlessly blends elements from both Doordarshan and All India Radio’s visual identities. This fusion complements Prasar Bharati’s identity as a national public broadcaster, entrusted with the management of DD and AIR by the Government of India. The central circle and the depiction of the Indian map within it signify the values of trust, security, and perfection that Prasar Bharati extends to the common man.

The logo also serves as a visual representation of Prasar Bharati’s journey, echoing its transformation from AIR (All India Radio) to Doordarshan and eventually evolving into a fully-fledged national broadcaster under the banner of Prasar Bharati. This evolution is symbolized in the logo as an emerging and evolving entity at its core.

The choice of Dark Moderate Blue as the primary color is both symbolic and meaningful. This hue encompasses the vast expanse of the sky and the sea, signifying open spaces and freedom. It also embodies qualities such as intuition, imagination, inspiration, and sensitivity. Additionally, Dark Moderate Blue conveys depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, and intelligence. It pays homage to India’s cultural heritage, drawing from religious figures and mythological characters found in Indian miniature paintings. This color is also in line with contemporary corporate culture trends.

In essence, Dark Moderate Blue, being a primary color across all color models, symbolizes serenity, stability, inspiration, wisdom, and reliability. It encapsulates the essence of Prasar Bharati’s values and heritage, making it a powerful and meaningful choice for the logo’s color palette.
